LAUNCHPOINT GUIDE

Editorial standards

Our approach to sources, authorship, corrections, and practical boating information.

We explain practical questions using official agencies, manufacturers, and other clearly identified sources. Every published guide has named authorship, a real publication date, a reading time, and a source list. We separate source facts from worked examples and editorial explanation.

Authorship and limits

Rob creates and organizes these resources. No marine qualification, first-hand facility visit, or professional technical review is implied. We do not invent testimonials, ratings, vessel performance, or manufacturer instructions.

How we check a guide

We start with a reader’s task, identify primary sources, check units and calculations, and explain material limitations. Safety-sensitive equipment or towing decisions require the applicable manufacturer’s instructions and, where appropriate, qualified advice. Editorial illustrations are labeled and never presented as facility photography.

Updates and corrections

Publication dates are not automatically changed on rebuild. A substantive revision should carry a dated update and renewed source checks. Official source changes, calculation defects, and credible correction reports trigger review. Send a correction with the exact page and source evidence.
